Lee Ann got started making teddy bears by accident. She took a teddy bear class from a local teddy bear artist at a Bernina store just for the fun of it, and got hooked. Since then she has worked on perfecting her skills and developing her own patterns. Lee Ann enjoys taking classes from bear artists because she always learns something from them. Everyone has their own way of putting a bear together, and some of them are quite wonderful. Lee Ann has taken bear classes from Bonnie Leach, Debbie LuBien, Rose Hill, Rita Loeb, Martha DeRaimo Birch, and Sam Blum. When she isn't working on bears, Lee Ann is busy taking care of her husband and two sons, and her two poodles Hayley and Shelby. A juggling act which is a full time job by itself! Right now Lee Ann is having a blast working on her new Fairey Bears. She keeps being asked where she got the idea for them, and her answer is that she doesn't know; that she had been thinking about making an entirely different type of bear at the time.
